The CW handed out new series orders for the 2019-2020 season, picking up Riverdale spinoff Katy Keene starring CW vet Lucy Hale, Arrow spinoff Batwoman starring Ruby Rose, and Nancy Drew. Missing from the round of pickups was Jane the Novela, the Jane the Virgin telenovela-inspired anthology series that would tell a new story each season.
The CW has renewed a record 14 series for the 2019-2020 season, including all five series from its freshman class, All American, Charmed, In the Dark, Legacies, and Roswell, New Mexico.
The CW is slated to announce its Upfronts schedule Thursday, May 16th.
