ABC Cancels “For The People”

ABC handed down the ax to Shonda Rhimes drama For The People.

The young lawyer drama was in its second season on ABC. With the cancellation of For The People, it leaves only three Shondaland series on the network, flagship series Grey’s Anatomy, Station 19, and How to Get Away with Murder.

The cancellation of For The People shouldn’t be too surprising averaging around 3 million viewers for its second season. Also, Rhimes recently left her longtime ABC home for a lucrative production deal at Netflix, so the network has less of an obligation to keep some of her lower rated shows on the air compared to if she was still at the network.
